Welcome to Akumal Natura Glamping

Connect with nature in Akumal without losing the comforts of a hotel. Glamping is a new way of staying where you connect with yourself and your surroundings.

Welcome to nature at its best

In 2016 I realized that after so many trips in my life and the fact that it is increasingly linked to nature and simplicity and that the soul more easily finds peace in contact with nature;

This, combined with the desire to share it, was the beginning of the creation of this Glamping project in the jungle that today we continue to treasure with devotion.

Born to be wild,

It could be said that we are not a concept for everyone, we are intended for people born to be free, something further away from the traps of the ego, overcrowding, and who seek for the “body to body” with nature without depriving them of certain comforts. We are land for lovers and adventurers, we are fertilizer for the soul.

A day with us means a good awakening with the songs of amazing birds, it means having near your cabin places to meditate, practice yoga or get a good regenerative massage; It means a good and healthy breakfast and the possibility of choosing in two cenotes to bathe or simply let yourself be entertained by the fun of one of them in an energizing fish spa.

You will have the relaxing feeling of being in the middle of the jungle and with the proximity of civilization less than 400 meters away, with the iconic beach with an abundance of Akumal turtles.

If you like to take care of your diet you will enjoy Ingrid’s menu, she has specialized in delicious “flexitarian” cuisine.

A few minutes away from the Glamping you can visit our environmental management unit “Akumal Natura Rescue”, after all, we created the Glamping to provide resources for the maintenance of the 85 wildlife animals to which we offer refuge until their release. You can also get on one of our bicycles to Akumal beach, one of the few places to bathe with the turtles that live in freedom in Akumal Bay.

Let us pamper you, let us be your best hosts, without you it would not be the same. Ah! And bring your pet, remember that we are pet friendly.

Great experience but price is too much ☺ Amazing tent/room and you feel like being part of nature. Comfortable bed ☹ Quite pricey for what they offer. Basic breakfast and we had to pay extra for the omelette (it should have been included given the price)

Good ☺ The food and cocktails are very good at the restaurant. The tour of the sanctuary is fantastic. ☹ When booking the room online, there was no mention of no hot water showers until after purchasing. There was also no mention of no WIFI in my room, which I had to walk to the common areas to use. There is no transport to and from the hotel and no help in organising a shuttle. I could deal with all of these things had they been made transparent when booking, but not worth $200 AUD per night.

Will absolutely stay again if we are back in Akumal! ☺ Beautiful glamping tent in the middle of the jungle. Large comfortable bed with mosquito net. The tent felt like a small cabin - very clean and comfortable. Cute outdoor (private) bathroom. Two stunning cenotes to swim in onsite and complimentary continental breakfast was delicious. We also did the tour of the animal rescue centre which was AMAZING - so many beautiful animals which they work to rehabilitate, breed (if possible) and then release. ☹ No hot water or air-conditioning. Although they. do bring you a flask on boiling water in the mornings to shower. We slept okay without air conditioning although was a little warm. A little pricey - but all the profits go directly back into funding the rescue centre so it’s worth it. The free bikes for rent are very flimsy and difficult to ride, especially on the dirt road out of the hotel. We opted not to use these after getting 100 meters down the road.

Phenomenal adventure glamping in the jungle, but a tuk tuk ride away from the beach We spent a week there just before Christmas 2022. My wife and I, and a 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy.The magic is in the adventure. This is not a sanitised 5 star all inclusive hotel (though the service was totally fine). You're staying in a jungle location, in accommodation that is between a hut and a tent. Surrounded by the most amazing wildlife. We got used to seeing a vulture every morning. To swimming with tiny turtles, in the on-site ceynote. To having our feet nibbled by fish. To the ginormous spider on the walk to breakfast. We could get a tuk tuk from the door to an amazing beach. And nice restaurants. And the food here is also pretty good. The trip to the sister company animal conservation centre was a massive highlight. With the kids able to handle a number of really exciting animals - but all done with a very pure spirit of conservation and rehabilitation.Would highly recommend. Should be aware that there are lots of mosquitos, so expect to get bitten a bit. But that's part of the adventure.

Honest, helpful front desk staff. Absolutely beautiful place. I ended up not being able to get to my hotel in Valladolid due to construction issues on the toll road and surly toll workers (I'll leave it at that). So, I turned around and headed down 307 toward Tulum. The sheer number of hotels is staggering, BUT finding something comfortable, safe, interesting at the last minute at a reasonable price is a challenge. ... Then, as if a Mayan goddess were watching over me, I found Akumal Natura Glamping ... and wow, just wow. First, the staff were great. An older lady (super kind) working on a computer in the open-air restaurant called for the front desk person (also super kind) and they gave me a glamping unit—at a discount from what was online. So, right off the bat, when I needed help, they did not try to take advantage of me. Instead, they treated me with kindness and honesty. The glamping setup was great, clean, comfy, private bath. The open-air restaurant was quite good. You do need mosquito spray when outside the tent, but that's a given anywhere in Quintana Roo. The setting and vibe of this place are extraordinary: there are two really beautiful cenotes you can swim in on the property, full jungle surroundings and sounds, gorgeous paths and lighting. Parking was right next to the front desk area. Everything felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again. I was in a rental car and the road there is bumpy (as are almost all roads in Yucatan except the highways), but it's really not that far. You drive through a little village, then just follow the GPS for a little ways up the dirt road. Just take it slow and maneuver around the potholes. It's so very worth it!!

Excellent guide Our guide Cesar was humble and extremely knowledgeable. Made for a great experience; the staff are clearly passionate about animal rehabilitation and release. Loved the delicious honey from Mayan bees. The cenote is breathtaking, and was a wonderful way to end the tour.

Lovely day out. Amazing experience, the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The animals are well looked after and all seem very happy in themselves. There was opportunity to taste honey from the bees for free and purchase some if you wish. There was also a restaurant and plenty of drinks to buy if you wished to.

Great excursion! We did the morning 10 am tour. Our guide Ceasar was very informative and you can really tell he cares about the well being of the animals. We saw a few cenotes, learned about local bees and wildlife. Bring your bathing suit as you can swim in one of the cenotes.

Great stay! We had a great stay at Akumal Natura Glampimg. We were a little worried about living without AC but it wasn’t bad at all. There’s a fan in the room that kept me comfy all night and one night I actually got a little cold. The restaurant at the hotel is awesome! Very good food and the best Mojito I’ve ever had! The 2 Cenotes on the property are beautiful and inviting with clear, cool water that is very refreshing. We took a tour of the rescue and rehabilitation center and our guide, Cesar was very informative, friendly, and had a good sense of humor. We enjoyed hanging out with him for the afternoon. It was a pleasure meeting the rescue center animals and learning about their efforts of rescue and rehabilitation. There was also some wild monkeys that happened to be swinging around in the trees at the center while we were there- that was a real treat! The tour ends with a dip in a beautiful cenote located on the rescue center property. We will be back!

Best Tour in Akumal This was our favorite tour in Akumal because of what they stand for. Rescuing animals, rehabilitation, and reproduction for endangered species. Our tour guid Antonio was funny, kind, and very knowledgeable. The cenote was absolutely stunning, and thrilling to swim in at the end of our tour. The restaurant also had great food and drinks which we were happy to sit down and enjoy for dinner. We even shared a glass of wine with our tour guide. If you’re looking to learn about the area, support a local cause that loves and nurtures animals and swim in a breathtaking cenote look no further. You will not be disappointed. Just don’t forget the OFF cause like everywhere else in the area mosquitoes are vicious.

Adventure, Animals and Best Cenote! We took our 7-year-old and 4-year-old daughters on this fabulous tour. Antonio was AMAZING. He was fantastic with our kids but most of all, his love and passion for the animals, bees, nature, conservation, and the whole property was so apparent and made the tour even better. He is definitely a special person. Our 7-year-old says seeing the monkeys and feeding them was her favorite part of the whole trip. The restaurant was a hidden gem and one of our favorite places we ate. The cenote was the highlight for me, I have been to many cenotes, but not like this one, this was very special and unique. Highly recommend it.

First time visit but won’t be my last It started with a warm welcome at the glamping center. Our guide was Antonio and he was very knowledgeable. We were given plenty of time to look and ask questions. It is so evident that Antonio loves his job and the animals and the animals love him right back

Love staying here. B at front desk is the best. Adrian a magician. The cenotes are super sweet to swim in, especially at night with the bats flying around. Loved our stay here. Will book again 100%.
