Welcome to Akumal Natura Glamping

Connect with nature in Akumal without losing the comforts of a hotel. Glamping is a new way of staying where you connect with yourself and your surroundings.

Welcome to nature at its best

In 2016 I realized that after so many trips in my life and the fact that it is increasingly linked to nature and simplicity and that the soul more easily finds peace in contact with nature;

This, combined with the desire to share it, was the beginning of the creation of this Glamping project in the jungle that today we continue to treasure with devotion.

Born to be wild,

It could be said that we are not a concept for everyone, we are intended for people born to be free, something further away from the traps of the ego, overcrowding, and who seek for the “body to body” with nature without depriving them of certain comforts. We are land for lovers and adventurers, we are fertilizer for the soul.

A day with us means a good awakening with the songs of amazing birds, it means having near your cabin places to meditate, practice yoga or get a good regenerative massage; It means a good and healthy breakfast and the possibility of choosing in two cenotes to bathe or simply let yourself be entertained by the fun of one of them in an energizing fish spa.

You will have the relaxing feeling of being in the middle of the jungle and with the proximity of civilization less than 400 meters away, with the iconic beach with an abundance of Akumal turtles.

If you like to take care of your diet you will enjoy Ingrid’s menu, she has specialized in delicious “flexitarian” cuisine.

A few minutes away from the Glamping you can visit our environmental management unit “Akumal Natura Rescue”, after all, we created the Glamping to provide resources for the maintenance of the 85 wildlife animals to which we offer refuge until their release. You can also get on one of our bicycles to Akumal beach, one of the few places to bathe with the turtles that live in freedom in Akumal Bay.

Let us pamper you, let us be your best hosts, without you it would not be the same. Ah! And bring your pet, remember that we are pet friendly.

Antonio Alonso, With Love

Exceptional ☺ Akumal Natura Glamping was gorgeous! We had the best weeks stay and found it to be a unique, relaxing, friendly and calming experience. The staff we all wonderful, so friendly and chatty and nothing was too much for them. It was lovely to meet the owner, and here about all the good this wonderful place does for nature. We took a trip also to the Akumal Sanctuary, a truly amazing experience and a must see, our tour guide (Hank) taught us so so much and we loved every minute of the 4 hour trip! The private cenote was a true wonder for us. Having never seen a cenote before it was a delight to have such a pretty one steps away from out tent! It was just so peaceful and calm throughout the day and we saw some cool wildlife too. What an experience to be woken up by nature every morning! The location was also great. Only a 7 minute cycle to the beach and 20 minutes to the lagoon - bikes were free to use and such a nice touch. Although there wasnt many places to get to beyond the town without a car, it didnt bother us and we had an extremely relaxing and calm week, just what we went for!! Onsite is the Namaste Restaurant a very calm and inviting place to spend am evening (we spent all our evenings here!). The staff were are lovely, very friendly and accommodating for dietary needs. We loved the breakfast, the fruit was so fresh and delicious every morning, we loved the freshly squeezed juice (honestly the best orange juice we've ever had!) and the smiles we received every morning. Hopefully one day we'll be back to enjoy this beautiful peaceful retreat. Thankyou for the best week Akumal Natura Glamping. Abi and Dan x ☹ Hardly anything we didnt like, but if we were to be picky, we'd have loved a few more veggie options at the Namaste Restaurant and AC wouldnt have gone a miss (but then we did knowingly book to stay in a jungle in the summer!!) Also was such a shame the yoga classes weren't still going on, but can appreciate this is likely due to covid! Did manage a yoga session alone one morning instead which was glorious!!

Very good ☺ The staf was extremely helpful and friendly. Very clean. Good balance with nature, there are plenty of lovely smal reptiles, butterflies and birds to watch(but none inside the tent). ☹ The cenotes looked dirty and not welcoming for swimming. There is a fan inside the tent but inside the mosquito net that way we couldn’t feel it working. It was a warm night.

Very good ☺ Amazing experience, first time glamping. Super nice staff, that offers bike renting. The restaurant is very good, either for dinner or breakfast. Cenotes were a plus! The best thing was probably Alcachofa the mousekeeping cat! ☹ No A/C, which was expected but nevertheless a bit hard to sleep at night when it is that hot.

4 hour tour with Anjo We saw their spider monkeys, macaws, crocs, a boa, owls, tiny boar and deer. The “cherry” was an absolutely beautiful cenote on the grounds. It’s clear that this organization cares for their animals and makes plans to reintroduce the animals to nature when possible. The tour offers limited “encounters” with some animals, especially the macaws that can never be reintroduced since being rescued from the likes of cruise ships - and which benefit from the social interactions. Anjo showed us an amazing time while educating us about bees, flora, and fauna in the area. He provided excellent service, as well as cultural perspective. We had a great time. I would book him again, at this location, or for a tour of si’an kan.

Amazing tour (thank you Hank Jano!) As with most tours, the tour is only as great as the tour guide. Our tour guide, Hank/Jano, was phenomenal! He has a truly kind heart and cares for the animals deeply, which allowed us a much more intimate experience with the animals. Outside of our amazing tour guide, the tour itself takes you through the jungle, stopping at various plants, bees, monkeys and other animals. The cenote at the end is probably one of the best in Mexico. Nothing else needs to be said - take the tour with Jano!

Stunning, peaceful, relaxing This was the highlight of my 7 day trip to Mexico's Yucatan. It was gorgeous, and the accommodations were extremely comfortable (I'm a city girl- CHicago, NYC, DC). Don't be afraid of the cold water showers- they are very comfortable and reasonably warm (and I am a wimp when it comes to showers.) The staff was gracious, welcoming, and kind. There are two peaceful, beautiful cenotes on their property that you can enjoy. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast is included, but it is a light continental breakfast (fruit, toast, yogurt, granola). They have additional breakfast items for purchase. I ordered the chilaquiles since I was travelling and didn't want to be hungry at the airport later that day. Bring plenty of cash as food and excursions are easier to pay in cash. There is an ATM at the OXXO in the nearest town- it’s a 25min walk. The nearby town has excellent tiny, local restaurants. I had 3 of the best tacos of my life for $6. This is an amazing location for a solo traveler, family, or couple. I hope to come back again someday with my nieces and nephew. Would recommend to anyone!

Best experience of our trip so far We ended up here by accident, we where going to do the tour offered by Akamul monkey Sanctuary but had to wait a couple hours so we stopped here for lunch, we had great food and a animal and cenote tour was about to start, I talked the family into doing this instead and WOW was it great - we went to 3 private cenotes which were all different - in one the fish nibbled at our feet- another was a half cave which we swam and walked then we had a hands on animal tour were we saw monkeys and other great animals, after learning about Mayan bees, we got to purchase local Mayan bee honey as well, this review cannot convey how great the time was- it was perfect for the kids who got to feed some animals and we had a very knowledgeable guide as well, I highly recommend this tour

Jungle Cleanse The best place to arrive in Mexico QuintanaRoo! Is like taking a bath in the Jungle. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle all around with two fresh cenotes on site. Staff treats you like Family. Fresh fruit in mornings, pescado y'arozz at nights, cheap serveza. Also highly recommend the animal rescue reserve thru the hotel owner Antonio just a'ways down the dirt road. He is a real character and Hero for Nature. Hard to believe what he has created. Bless! 10/10 ~Mister doostin

Eskerrik asko!!

Connect with Nature: Pure Tranquility The photos of this property don't fully convey its beauty and tranquility. We ended up spending more of our time relaxing around the grounds than going to the beach. It was completely fulfilling and restorative just to laze around and take in the surrounding ecology. The two Cenotes they have on the property are small but stunning, and we often had them to ourselves. We even went swimming at nighttime. For those who need to be connected, don't worry we had full cell phone coverage and the wifi was reliable. The bungalow/tents were incredibly clean and made of top quality materials. This place is special and it's apparent a lot of effort was/is put into making it so. All of the folks working here are very caring people. Food from the restaurant was always fresh. I would come to the Riviera Maya just to stay here.

Great place to unwind I have always loved the Akumal beach area but I prefer this place now. They offer free bikes to ride through town and get to the beach or lagoon quite easily. There are 2 Cenotes on the property and one at the sanctuary. I highly recommend taking the tour. It is great to see that they are rescuing so many animals. The staff is very friendly. I will definitely be returning.

¡¡¡ IM-PRE-SIO-NAN-TE !!! 💜

A nice spot to get away from everything. Staff are lovely, the tents are comfortable and it's great having an on-site cenote to cool off in whenever you want. They also have bikes to borrow so you can go into the town to to eat or visit the beach. There is an on-site restaurant and although the staff do the best they can, I could only eat there a couple times because vegetarian options are limited. My only critique is that the tents did get very warm at night so if you're unable to sleep without AC you might struggle here in the summer. I recommend doing the tour through their animal sanctuary and not the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary. Seems more like a sanctuary than the other options. Plus the cenote that to get to visit on the tour is beautiful. One of the best I've seen in the area.

Dou you know that by staying at Akumal Natura Glamping you are supporting the welfare of this area?
Let me explain...
I introduce myself
I am Antonio Alonso and I write from Akumal Natura Rescue in the jungle of the Mexican Mayan Riviera. We host 80 wildlife animals with which we pursue objectives of rehabilitation, reproduction and reintegration
I like to describe myself as a chronicler of nature and an avid observer of it.
For those of you who do not know me, I am already, with all its letters, a “citizen of the planet”

I am not a biologist nor am I a veterinarian, I am only guided by vocation and commitment.
Even so, we have the advice of a biologist technical manager and a veterinarian who visits us monthly to establish preventive medicine and various care plans.

I am interested and attracted to questions about nature and I am an avid reader and modest researcher who frequently consults various sources to satisfy my curiosity when I am interested in a topic.
Even so, this is not about me, it is just the vision of an “adventurologist”, who is getting older and more aware of the environment in which we live and with the desire to spread themes, knowledge, and experiences based on nature. in general and with the hope that they can contribute or transmit something.
The company of the animals and plants of the jungle taught me to think that we are part of this place, and not mere spectators and that, with the proper motivation and knowledge we can help in the preservation

We would love to share a day with you and live an experience at our rescue center by the jungle.
